Josh Shirley

Professional Ski Instructor

Purpose

Ask a coworker to describe me in one word, and I believe they would say "ski nerd" (okay, that's two words). My lifelong fascination with the physics of movement on snow is what drives my teaching. I believe that understanding the mechanics of a turn is the key to unlocking a skier's true potential.

I stand out as an instructor because I have a deep and unwavering belief that we all have an enormous capacity to learn. My passion is seeing my students not just as skiers, but as people who can grow and become better athletes. It's this belief that fuels my patient, encouraging, and analytical approach to every lesson.

My goal is to create a learning environment where my students feel supported and confident enough to push their boundaries. For me, a successful day on the mountain is when a student not only masters a new skill but also discovers the joy and self-assurance that comes with it. I am committed to sharing my knowledge and passion to help others become more confident and capable skiers and people.
